So, `DivineError, =nicksname and I went to Breakfast at Balboa yesterday morning for a BMW Z meet-up and got a TON of cool shots as well as meeting a TON of cool people and seeing a TON of cool cars.
From left to right: Z1: The first in the Z series, in production for just three years (1989 - 1991). There are only three of these cars in the United States. It has doors that don't open outward, nor upward- but slide downward into the car itself. I'm very lucky to get shots of one. Z8: The "California Cruiser", based on the old BMW 507 models from 1956- '59, was designed in SoCal by Henrik Fisker. Originally dubbed the Z07, this car was not designed to go into production. Upon having rave reviews, BMW made only 5,703 of these vehicles. Half of them reside in the US. Z3: The first mass marked BMW to be produced in the United States. The roadster(convertible) version of this vehicle is very popular, however the coupe(hardtop) version is far less common. Z3 coupes were designed and put into production without BMW bigwigs knowing about it. It's a cult classic of sorts, my personal favorite of the series. Z4: BMW's most recent Z model, designed in SoCal and assembled on the east coast. The M version of this model is popular in racing and track sports, the coupe version being the safest two-seater sports car available. A newer version was just introduced December '08 and will be available later this year. Well, I hope you're all BORED NOW from my car talk. 8D |
