Guide to the Mummer Muse v2.5 by `delya:icondelya:

History:

Created by the other Muses of the Universe after the Star Fetus almost destroyed the Celestial Muse, Mummer Muses are actually an exact reproduction of the original muse's physical traits- powers aside. Like a zebra would hide among the stripes and patterns of it's own kind, so does the Celestial Muse hide among it's fellow Mumus. The only thing is- the muse doesn't know who it is. It thinks it's just another of these creatures, just like any other.

When the Mumus were first created, they were arrogant and cruel. They would kill and consume the "lesser creatures" that surrounded them- including humans, anthros, and whomever else they deemed unworthy. After some 300+ years of this happening, the other Muses interviened and killed any Mumu that acted outragiously barbaric and tought good to those who wanted to be more peaceful in their living. Several thousands of years have passed since then and (most) all is well and back to normal.

Celestial Muse:

Every 100 years, the Celestial Muse is re-incarnated into another Mumu body. Most of the time this re-incarnation never even realises it's the real Muse. The only trait that each re-incarnation carries with itself are it's eyes; shades of blue, purple, and yellow swirl around in the iris- giving the appearance of a starry galaxy. And, when either very happy or extremely aggrivated, the Muse's eyes will glow very brightly. When physical maturity is reached, the Muse may have the ability to move and sculpt matter.

The Muse is a very important part of the Universe, seing as it's presence is what holds everything together. Should the Celestial Muse's soul be destroyed, everything creating the physical realm will crumble and drift away- living and non-living beings alike. This is why the other muses take such care in ensuring the Celestial Muse's safety.

Mummer Muse Physical Traits:

Male:
~Average Height: 5' 7"
~Average Weight: 138 lbs.
~Average Lifespan: 92 yrs.
~Has a short snout that sticks almost straight out from his face.
~Has large, almost oval shaped eyes.
~His limbs taper towards his torso, getting slightly wider near the wrist.
~Arms have two bendable joints between the shoulder and wrist.
~Legs have one bendable joint between the hip and ankle.
~Hands and feet are much larger than those of the female species.
~Mates with the female through use of a strong electrical pulse which stimulates the female's ovaries, causing the egg cell to divide.
~Can mate outside of own species.
~Has no outer reproductive organs of his own, just a unique electrical pulse that stimulates the developement of eggs.
~Hits maturity around the age of 16-20.
~Has a special "scent gland" located on the underside of the tongue. This scent gland was once used to mark territory, but now serves no real purpose. The scent varies and is developed between the ages of 8-12. Some scents have been known to lull others to sleep, turn them on, or cause other various reactions.

Female:
~Average Height: 5' 4"
~Average Weight: 118 lbs.
~Average Lifespan: 98 years.
~Has a short snout that tapers slightly.
~Has eyes slightly smaller than male's which are further apart.
~Limbs bend like that of a human's and are more defined in shape.
~Can only mate with a male of the same species.
~Has humanoid reproductive organs: ovaries, uterus, birthing canal, etc.
~Pregnancy can last from 6-8 months.
~Hits maturity around the age of 18-21.

Both:
~Mumus have very little hair- all of which is on their scalp and eyebrows. Males will sometimes grow facial hair, but even that is a somewhat rare occurrance. It's not uncommon for a Mumus to never grow any hair at all.
~Mumus have a very strong electrical pulse in their bodies. This pulse fuels the Mumus' energy just as much as their blood does- if nor moreso. Because they require so much energy to keep going, their bodies consume all that they take in (aside from a small amount that's stored as fat) eliminating any need to "use the restroom." This can, however, become a great inconvinience to any friends/family outside of the Mumu species should they be visiting a specially-designed Mumu home.
~Three fingers and a thumb on each hand.
~Paw-like feet with four toes.
~A fit Mumu can run in short bursts in speeds up to 38 mph.
~Males are much more common than females, making them the dominant gender. The male to female ratio is around 3:1.
~Mumus hear through two gill-like slits on each side of their head, just above the jaw hinge. These slits are usually covered by hair and therefor not easily visible. When a Mumu places their head on the ground, they can often times hear vibrations in the ground (same goes for walls or other solid structures.)
~Lacking any true scent organs, Mumus have aquired an accute sense of taste. They can taste in the air what we humans can smell.
~When very aggrivated, the snout may wrinkle-up like that of an angry dog.
~Mumus have no canine teeth, however their back teeth have small jagged ridges on the outside.
~Skin and hair tones are very similar to that of humans- however variations in eye color are common. Only the Celestial Muse has blue, purple, and yellow eyes.

Present Day:

Mumus live throughout the (my) world and come in many shapes, sizes, colors, and flavors. While they may be more physically superior to most other species, they're mental capacity remains at that of a human level. So they make mistakes...a lot.

There are still a few underground/hidden cults in which Mumus will practice their barbaric ritualistic ways of the old days when they were first "born." This includes the massacreing of small villages/kidnapping of other species- often times they'll kill and eat their victems. Keep in mind that very few Mumus still do this, though- and most are often disgusted by the fact that still keeps happening. They see it as an act of "racism" so to speak.

Most Mumus don't actually believe in the Celestial Muse anymore- it's more of a folklore story than anything to them now. There are a few who do believe, though; and a few more who take advantage of that belief.

Mumu FAQ:

Can male Mumus accidentally impregnate females?
I suppose, but it's VERY difficult to do. A male has to be in the right frame of mind and body in order to release a pulse with the err... right specifications for LUV MAKIN'.

Are there any Mumu-only diseases and illnesses?
Uhm... if you count strange effects caused by sexual tension, then yes. This only happens in males, though. If he doesn't release his stored-up energy at least once every week or so, one of two things may happen: 1) He will get a high fever and basically become a walking static charge, with the ability to zap small electrical bolts out of their fingertips and cheeks or 2) Release his energy without warning.

Do Mumus have supercool ELECTRICAL POWERS?!
No. Not unless it's a guy in heat. Then no. No powers at all (unless they're the Muse; Oz and Nex are exceptions. Del's a demon, not a Mumu so she doesn't count.)

Can Mumus have same-sex...uhrr... sex?
Yes, they can. Their electrical charges can stimulate both males and females- only males can impregnate females though.

Can I make my own Mumu?
Sure! Just be sure to credit me where credit is due. (:

Any other questions? Ask away! I'll post important/funny ones here.

Updated Mummer Muse info. Basically exactly the same as the old guide, just with slight alterations to the whole "neck" thing. Also added a bit about male scent organs and gay couples. ;]

I would have just edited the old version, but dA wouldn't let me. <__> So here's a new one.

Enjoy!
