Update: Apparently the family can still receive donations, they just can't do so for the raffle. So an artist fundraiser drive would work out perfectly. Stay tuned for more info on how you can help out!

Paypal went and shut down the Fundfax Fairraiser because of the raffle. They considered it to be "gambling."

Seriously. I donated cause I wanted to, not cause of some stupid gamer prize. I don't even OWN a gaming system other than my DS. Blargh whatever, at least they let the family keep the funds they had already gotten.

Thanks to anyone who donated and/or pimped out the fundraiser. This family can use all the help they can get. I mean, $5,000 for ONE dose of their daughter's life saving medicine? That is so unfair. And they can't even get insurance for her because nobody knows what causes Infantile Spasms and there is no known cure.

Ugh that just makes me sick. I wish all the best to this family. And if somehow I win something from that raffle, I'm selling it on Ebay and donating the money.

Edit: Cause I'd like to share something more lighthearted as well. My first threeway collab. ;3;

Cant they reopen a paypal account and start accepting donations now instead? I didnt think this was anywhere near gambling but paypal has some odd rules

If they did, I'm sure they'd get in deep trouble with Paypal. It's like being banned from dA then making a ban evasion account. Only with money involved. Money makes everything worse.

Damn. Only other thing I can come up with is if some people take donations through their own paypal account and say its a charity for this child, then when the goal is reached wire the money to them or something.

I still think thats a load of BS from paypal. Some people use obopay cause of all the rules paypal has
